How is it that my only son is almost 8?<\/p>\n

Almost 8?!? \u00a0I can’t believe that.<\/p>\n

I’ve been a professional photographer for over 5 years now, and like the cobbler’s children that have no shoes,<\/p>\n

my house is barren of pictures. \u00a0Barren of the evidence of the life I celebrate every day.<\/p>\n

I always vow to get better, but somehow life gets in the way.<\/p>\n

I have had this great vision for the wall in my dining room to be covered\u00a0<\/em>in our everyday portraits.<\/p>\n

But, yet, the same big chili poster is there. \u00a0Lame. \u00a0I’m lame sometimes. \u00a0I admit it.<\/p>\n

Luckily, I’ve been inspired by my colleagues and friends to participate in a blog circle of our everyday life.<\/p>\n

7 amazing photographers taking time to enjoy their family. \u00a0Taking time to reflect on it once a month. Taking time to share it with the world.<\/p>\n

Taking time to remember.<\/p>\n

I don’t know how I might evolve in this – but I’m looking forward to watching.<\/p>\n

I’m bad about leaving my “good” camera home unless I’m working, so these won’t be stellar portraits.<\/p>\n

Nope. \u00a0Not from me. \u00a0From me it will most likely be phone snaps – and I don’t even have any cool apps that make my pics look better.<\/p>\n

And a whole lot of babbling. \u00a0It’s ok if you skip all the text and go right to pictures.<\/p>\n

I’m babbling for me. \u00a0Because one day, when my baby is going to high school, or GULP, college, I’ll want to<\/p>\n

Remember This.<\/p>\n

If you’re friends with me on FB – then you might have read this story already. \u00a0But it’s so good, I have to write it here.<\/p>\n

Eddie or I are usually able to walk Silas to school. \u00a0One morning I didn’t have time to walk and let him know we would have to drive.<\/p>\n

He asked if we could park nearby – and I thought it was a great idea because then I wouldn’t get stuck in the traffic line.<\/p>\n

Silas’ response: Park close and we can walk from there. \u00a0So I can hold your hand for at least 1 block.<\/p>\n

Melt my heart.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

(one day I’ll have a better image than this. \u00a0But for now, I remember)<\/p>\n

October is the month for costumes and Halloween traditions. \u00a0I always regret I don’t take more pictures.<\/p>\n

Carving pumpkins is one of mine and Eddie’s favorite things to do. \u00a0I ventured to try roasting my own pumpkin seeds.<\/p>\n

Why did I wait this long? \u00a0We all LOVED them. \u00a0It even inspired Silas to dig in and get seeds (he never does this)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And you can’t have Halloween without costumes. \u00a0Silas gets scarier every year. \u00a0Last year was a vampire and this year was the Grim Reaper.<\/p>\n

We continued our tradition of meeting with his best buds, Chan and Oscar, and hit the neighborhood – old school style. \u00a0We had a blast.<\/p>\n

I hope I never forget this, but Eddie and I won a costume contest!!! \u00a0We really couldn’t believe it.<\/p>\n

We never win anything and definitely not a costume contest.<\/p>\n

We went to a murder mystery dinner theater with some good friends at a local winery.<\/p>\n

The them was Death By Disco. \u00a0We didn’t don disco clothes – but went with the 70s theme (and already had the costume so it was easy).<\/p>\n

Velma and Shaggy took home a win!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking of Chan – I found a gem this month.<\/p>\n

Chan really was Silas’ first friend. \u00a0They didn’t really have a choice since his parents are our best friends, too.<\/p>\n

I hope they are always this close. \u00a0One day, one day, I hope to chronicle their friendship.<\/p>\n

Then and now. \u00a0Sigh. \u00a0Melt my heart. \u00a0I love these boys.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I don’t get in front of the camera enough. \u00a0I want to change that. \u00a0So, I’m going to try to end each post with a snap of us together.<\/p>\n

I only thought of this just now. \u00a0As I was going through my iphone pics to see what I wanted to share here. \u00a0This wasn’t this month.<\/p>\n

It was right before school started. \u00a0This is us. \u00a0This is how we are most of the time.<\/p>\n

Silly, laughing, having fun. \u00a0I want to remember this. \u00a0I want this on my dining room wall. It makes my heart happy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So, yea, kind of lame, I know. \u00a0It will get better, I promise.<\/p>\n

But I need to start somewhere. \u00a0I could already feel myself getting ready to bail out of this project because<\/p>\n

I knew I would look real lame compared to my talented friends.<\/p>\n

But this is for me. \u00a0And anyone else that wants to read.<\/p>\n
