Ashley contacted me early in her pregnancy.<\/p>\n
Of course she would, if you know Ashley<\/p>\n
you know she plans everything waaaay ahead of time.<\/p>\n
She has her checklists, and she checks them more than twice.<\/p>\n
Ashley knows the importance of birth photography because she has photographed 2 births herself.<\/p>\n
During my interview, she asked me an important question:<\/p>\n
Why do you like doing births?<\/p>\n
My answer: \u00a0It feeds my soul<\/p>\n
There’s no way I could charge based on the hours I spend being on call for a birth.<\/p>\n
I do them because I love them.<\/p>\n
Births feed my soul.<\/p>\n
Being there when Reagan was born fed my soul.<\/p>\n
I hung out a bit with Ashley and John early in her labor.<\/p>\n
Then left for a while to give her some space to rest.<\/p>\n
I got back just as she was heading to the hospital – hooray!<\/p>\n
After a few hours at the hospital, I went home for some rest myself.<\/p>\n
Ashly’s sister kept me informed and it wasn’t too long before I headed back to the hospital.<\/p>\n
Ashley was, what’s the best word?<\/p>\n
Primal<\/p>\n
She’s a warrior. \u00a0Amazing. A rock star.<\/p>\n
And John….<\/p>\n
there every step of the way. \u00a0I captured so many images of<\/p>\n
their connection.<\/p>\n
Ashley was determined to have a natural birth (I told you about her planning skills, right)<\/p>\n
and she did just that.<\/p>\n
Women are amazing.<\/p>\n
Ashley is amazing.<\/p>\n
Reagan has one lucky little girl.<\/p>\n
